Steampunk may look like a costume scene from the outside, but much of its real strength comes from community.
Across the UK there are clubs, societies, informal social groups, maker circles and event communities that meet throughout the year.
What do steampunk groups do?
Activities vary enormously. A group might organise pub meetups, museum visits, picnics, tea duelling, costume walks, maker days, photo shoots, trips to festivals or simply provide a way for like-minded people to stay in touch.
You do not need experience
If you are new, say so. Most established groups contain people who remember arriving at their first event knowing nobody.
Helping groups get discovered
Steampunk UK is building a directory of UK clubs and communities so that newcomers can find people locally instead of having to know exactly what to search for on social media.
If your group welcomes new members, make sure we know about you.
