Cinematic alt-pop, dark fairy tales and theatrical steampunk storytelling.
Alice Strange is a Lincoln-based alternative pop artist whose music combines electronic production, theatrical visuals and story-led performance. Formerly performing as Alice’s Night Circus, she began with a classical music background before developing a distinctive world of dark pop, fantasy, steampunk and cinematic storytelling. Her background in fashion and jewellery design is an important part of the visual identity surrounding the music, while early songwriting work with Ivor Novello-winning producer and songwriter Eliot Kennedy helped shape her original material. Her debut album Metamorphose established an apocalyptic fairy-tale world filled with steampunk, circus and dark-pop influences, with later releases expanding into a broader alternative and whimsical pop sound. Alice has performed at events including Zandari Festa in Seoul, Liverpool Sound City, Whitby Pavilion, Lincoln Engine Shed, the Asylum Steampunk Festival and Fantasy Forest, and has received support from BBC Introducing.
