The UK already has steampunk communities. It does not need one organisation trying to own them.<\/p>\n
What it does need is a better way to connect them.<\/p>\n
Events, clubs, makers, performers and traders are scattered across websites, social media pages and private groups. That works when you already know the scene, but it can be difficult for newcomers to discover what exists.<\/p>\n
Steampunk UK is being developed as a shared national discovery point: somewhere to find events, makers, groups, performers, stories and resources while still sending people back to the communities that created them.<\/p>\n
The strongest steampunk communities are often local. A national site should make those communities more visible, not replace them.<\/p>\n
